Case Types We See

Not all back and neck pain is the same.

And not all cases require a Disc Clinic.

At Precise Chiropractic Center, we focus on complex, disc-driven, and nerve-involved cases in Lake in the Hills IL — especially when other approaches have failed.

Below are the types of cases we see most often.

Disc Herniations in Lake in the Hills IL

We frequently work with patients diagnosed with:

  • Lumbar disc herniations
  • Cervical disc herniations
  • Extrusions and protrusions
  • MRI-confirmed disc tears

These patients often report:

  • Sharp or radiating pain
  • Leg pain (sciatica)
  • Arm pain
  • Numbness or tingling
  • Weakness

Many have already tried physical therapy, injections, or general chiropractic care before coming to us.

Disc Bulges

Disc bulges are often dismissed as “normal” or “age-related.”

But when joint mechanics are faulty and pressure is unaddressed, bulges can become symptomatic and progressive.

We commonly see patients with:

  • Multi-level disc bulges
  • Bulges combined with stenosis
  • Bulges causing recurring flare-ups
  • Chronic back or neck pain linked to bulging discs

Sciatica & Radiculopathy

Radiating nerve pain is one of the most common reasons patients seek our care.

We regularly see:

  • Sciatica traveling down one or both legs
  • Arm pain radiating from the neck
  • Numbness, tingling, or burning sensations
  • Weakness related to nerve compression

In many cases, the nerve irritation is secondary to disc pressure and mechanical dysfunction — not just inflammation.

Spinal Stenosis

We work with patients experiencing:

  • Lumbar spinal stenosis
  • Cervical stenosis
  • Neurogenic claudication
  • Walking intolerance due to nerve pressure

These patients are often told that narrowing automatically means surgery.

In some cases, it does.

In others, mechanical correction and pressure reduction significantly improve function.

Our role is to determine which is appropriate.

Degenerative Disc Disease

Disc degeneration is common — especially after years of mechanical stress.

We frequently see:

  • Multi-level degeneration
  • Loss of disc height
  • Chronic stiffness and flare-ups
  • Progressive mechanical breakdown

Degeneration does not automatically mean surgery is required.

But it does require a structured plan — not symptom chasing.

Chronic Neck & Low Back Pain

Many of our patients come in without dramatic MRI findings — but with persistent pain that keeps returning.

These cases often involve:

  • Mechanical instability
  • Poor segmental motion
  • Abnormal load distribution
  • Recurrent nerve irritation

When the mechanics are not corrected, the cycle continues.

Post-Failed Conservative Care

A significant number of our patients arrive after:

  • Failed physical therapy
  • Multiple injections
  • Medications without lasting results
  • Months or years of “maintenance adjustments”
  • Conflicting opinions

They’re not looking for another experiment.

They’re looking for a clear diagnosis and a structured correction plan.

Post-Surgical Cases (Selectively)

We occasionally work with patients who:

  • Have had previous disc surgery
  • Still experience residual symptoms
  • Want to improve function and stability

Not every post-surgical case is appropriate for our care.

That’s why evaluation comes first.

Complex, Multi-Factor Cases

We frequently see cases involving combinations of:

  • Disc herniation + stenosis
  • Degeneration + radiculopathy
  • Multi-level disc involvement
  • Long-standing mechanical dysfunction

These are not simple cases — and they require more than isolated treatment.

What We Do Not Primarily Treat

We are not primarily designed for:

  • Minor muscle strains
  • Occasional soreness
  • Quick, one-visit relief

There are excellent providers for those needs.

We are built for serious disc and nerve cases that require a system-based approach.

If You’re Unsure Where You Fit

You do not need to self-diagnose.

The purpose of the Disc Evaluation is to determine:

  • What type of case you truly have
  • Whether it fits our system
  • What the realistic expectations are

Final Thought

  • The type of case matters.
  • The right system for the right problem changes everything.
  • That’s why we are selective — and why outcomes are different here.
